Thomas George Hewitt was born in 1886. He was married to Annie Hewitt and they lived in Pen y Bryn, Sychdyn. She died however, on 17th May 1913 aged 26 and was buried in Northop Churchyard. There was one child, Florence. He joined the army on the 5th August 1914 and entered his first theatre of war on 13th April 1915 in France. His sister Margaret Jones, took care of Florence.
