Catherall, Thomas

Thomas Catherall was the son John and Hannah Catherall of 14, Spon Cottage.

His death was reported in the County Herald in December 1917.

Mr. and Mrs. John Catherall, of Spon Green, Buckley, received word on Tuesday morning last week, that their son, Private Thomas Catherall, had been posted as missing since the 11th December. Before the war, Private Catherall was employed at an iron works.

John Catherall married Hannah Lamb in 1884. Thomas was born in 1888 and was 29 when he died in 1917. From the 1911 census, Thomas had a brother, John Lamb Catherall, and three sisters, Gladys Eliza, Phyllis and Elsie Emma.

Thomas is remembered at the Tyne Cot Memorial and on the family grave at Bistre.
