William Henry Williams was born in 1891 the eldest child of John and Anne Williams (nee Vaughan) of Spon Green. In 1901 the family was living at Spon Green: John Williams 30, boilermaker, Anne 31, William H 10, Mary 4, James 4, all born Buckley. John Williams died in 1909. In 1911, William Henry 20, coal miner, was living at Newton in Makerfield, a boarder with Samuel Edwards born Buckley.
William Henry is remembered with his father on a grave at Bistre Church.

No medal card or service record has been found for William Henry suggesting that he did not serve overseas, but he was buried with military honours.
