Jones, Henry (Harry)

UK, Soldiers Died in the Great War, 1914-1919 accessible on www.ancestry.co.uk  gives us the regimental details and tells us that he was born and enlisted in Shotton. His medal card, also on ancestry details his medal entitlement and quotes both the regimental numbers.

Henry (Harry) is mentioned in the book “Soldiers Died in the Great War 1914 – 1918  Royal Welsh Fusiliers Volume 28” – 2nd Bn Jones, Henry. Born Shotton, Cheshire.  Enlisted Shotton. 54564  Pte  Killed in action France & Flanders 26th September 1917.

His two regimental numbers take us to some information about his parents. A pension allocation was made to his mother Ellen Jones. Her address was recorded as Raglan Cottages, Upper Colwyn Bay.

His Father Robert Jones was his sole legatee in the Register of Soldier’s Effects.

Unfortunately there is no further information about Henry/Harry Jones.  We have been unable to trace the family on census returns. Can anyone help us learn more about him?
