Williams, William Henry

William Henry Williams was born in Rhuddlan, Flintshire on 29 September 1900.

The 1911 Census shows that the family lived at 9 Greefield Place, Vale Road, Rhyl, Flintshire, North Wales.  The head of the family was William Williams aged 46, a General Labourer. His wife Ellen Williams aged 48, a Charwoman and their three children – Robert Williams aged 17, a Golf Caddie, Margaret Mary Williams aged 14 and William Henry Williams aged 10 years.

Nothing is known at this time about his early life.  He enlisted with 53rd Battalion, South Wales Borderers.
