John Parry was born in Rhyl, Flintshire, North Wales in 1876.

Nothing is known of his early life but he did marry Lydia Parry of 52 Standard View, Ynyshir, Glamorgan, Wales.

He arrived on the Western Front, France with the Battalion on 1 December 1915.

He is also remembered on The North Wales Heroes Memorial Arch, Deiniol Road, Bangor, North Wales and on a Remembrance Plaque at The Royal Alexandra Hospital, Marine Drive, Rhyl, Flintshire.
