Harry Kilvert was born in Clunbury Shropshire in 1885. The son of Richard, from Lydham and Sarah Pugh from More, Shropshire. His siblings in the 1891 census were Richard 14, Sarah 11, Elisha 9, and William 8. The family were resident in ‘The New House’ Kempton Shropshire and are famers with four servants; Harry is at school and aged 7 years old.

In the 1901 census Harry is 16 years old and listed as the farmer’s son, Richard 64 is head of the family with his wife Sarah age 55, Richard is 24, Sarah 21, William 18,  the family remain resident in Kempton again with four servants.

In 1911 the family farm at Kempton is now in being run by Brother Richard who is 28, Harry is 26, single and has a job as a bank clerk, Sister Sarah is working on the farm along with three local servants, James Cadd 16 a waggoner, Robert Brunt 16 a cowman and Nellie Mantle 16 a General servant.

In 1913 Harry marries Mary Woolfall, the marriage is registered in Hawarden Flintshire in volume 11b page 405 and is listed in the 16th October edition of the Flintshire Observer.

Mary’s parents are Arthur J Woolfall and Mary Augusta Woolfall born in Warrington Lancashire and Hope Flintshire and they are listed in the 1911 census living at ‘The Cottage Hope Nr Mold’ a house with nine rooms.

In 1914 a son is born to Harry and Mary, Richard Arthur Kilvert who sadly died aged 21 in1935.

The military records for Harry consist of the record for his burial in France; he died of wounds received, and his medal roll card which show he was awarded the Victory and British medals. His widow Mary applied for the medals on the 27 September 1921
