I have put Roger Bartley’s name on this list because his wife Gladys petitioned for his name to be added to this Connah’s Quay & Shotton WW2 War Memorial after his death as well as the Hawarden WW2 War Memorial, although the Connah’s Quay Council said they would add it, they never did.  I do hope at some time in the future the names on this list will be added to an additional Plaque on the Connah’s Quay & Shotton War Memorial, as the sacrifice of every one of these people is just as valid as the ones whose families and friends put forward their names many years ago, and life’s circumstances may have prevented them from doing so, they must be remembered.  Please click on the link to read his story.
