The 1911 Census states that the family lived at Glan Aber, New Brighton, Bagillt, Flintshire.   The head of the family was John Jones aged 55, his wife was Margaret Jones aged 44 and their 6 (six)  listed sons were  Ino Evan Jones aged 22, who was employed as a Lead Smelter in the Bagillt Iron Foundry.  Benjamin Hughes Jones aged 20, who was employed at The Welsh Flannel Mill, Greenfield Road, Holywell as a Bobbin Carrier.  (A Weavers Assistant, who supplied the looms with Bobbins).  Edward Albert Jones aged 17, who was employed by the Welsh Flannel Mill as an Apprentice Cotton Spinner.   Thomas Charles Jones aged 15, Richard Owen Jones aged 12 and Edmund Wynne Jones aged 8.   The family at some time moved from this address to 4 Rising Sun, Merllyn Lane, Bagillt, Flintshire.

Edward was a member of the Calvinistic Methodist Tabernacle, Bagillt and was well respected in the community.

John Hughes Jones died on 2 January 1912 aged 57 years, followed on 20 August 1913 by Edmund Wynne Jones aged 10 years.  They are buried in the family grave situated in New Brighton Cemetery, Flintshire.

Edward Albert Jones was Killed in Action on Tuesday 31st July 1917, the first day of the third battle of Ypres (Passchedaele), aged 24 years.

On 20 July 1918 a payment of £2.13s.3d was made by the War Office to Mrs Margaret Jones, this being monies owed to her son Edward.  On 11 November 1919, a further payment which is recorded as a War Gratuity of £6.10s.0d was also made to her.

He is also remembered on The North Wales Heroes Memorial Arch, Deiniol Road, Bangor, North Wales.
