The Royal British Legion organises annually, a Pedal to Paris cycle ride which begins in Greenwich, London. This year, a team of  five Flintshire guys took part in the ride, raising sponsorship to help The Legion with its work in supporting service men and women and their families.

One of the team’s big fundraising events  was the ‘Poppy Pedalathon’. This mountain biking event at Coed Llandegla took place in June and involved children from  four Flintshire Primary schools. The children ‘paid’ for their activity day by raising sponsorship for the Paris event.

The children raised a grand total of £1,312

And after four hard days of cycling the guys reached the Arc de Triomphe and one of their firsts tasks was to send a big Welsh thank you to

Rhos Helyg,  Ysgol Sychdyn,  Wood Memorial and  Ysgol Mynydd Isa.

DIOLCH!
