There is a Flintshire roll of Honour card for him in the County Archive Office at Hawarden. The card contains the regimental details as above. It gives the address as Holly Cottage and says that John served for 2 years. It was signed on 21st September 1919 by Mr Joseph Davies. UK Soldiers who died in The Great War 1914 -19 accessible on www.ancestry.co.uk says that he was born in Halkyn and enlisted in Wigan.
