Williams, William Thomas

I cannot find anything definitive on William Thomas Williams, there is no Flintshire WW1 Index Card at the Record Office at Hawarden and he is not remembered on the Bangor Memorial Arch, which has all the Parishes of North Wales and the names of servicemen.   However, I know that there are lots of men who are not remembered there, as indeed many are missed off local memorials.   However there are many, many William Williams’s in the Ffynnongroew area.

Clwyd Family History Society – http://www.clwydfhs.org.uk/cofadeiladau/ffynnongroyw_wm.htm has nothing else written for  WILLIAMS, William Thomas

I did find on Ancestry – William Thomas Williams in the Web: UK, Campaign Medals Awarded to WWI Merchant Seamen, 1914-1925

Name:  William Thomas Williams

Birth Date:      1883

Birth Place:     Mostyn

Year Issued:    1914-1925

URL:   http://discovery.nationalarchi…  http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D7961249#imageViewerLink

I downloaded the Medal card – below- but I do not think it refers to “Our” William Thomas Williams, but perhaps someone knows better, I do hope so.

Also his discharge Card –

I also found this family below, and the William on the censuses, could be the William Thomas Williams above, but it looks as though he may have survived, as the dates are too late for him to have died and his name put forward to be included on the memorial.    However, he could have died and his family could have sent for his medals later, as the dates show.
