The memorial is set on its own ‘island’ in the road in front of St Paul Parish Church,

 The inscription is Welsh

There are five names from World War 1 listed with (helpfully for us), their regiments and the names of their homes.

There is one named Royal Navy serviceman  from WW2

Beneath a window on the outside of the church is another memorial which was erected in 1924. This one contains nine names from the First World War. We believe that the four extra names were soldiers who died after the war or after they had been discharged for being medically unfit. We have used this later memorial as the basis of our research.

If you have a relative named on the Rhosesmor memorial and you have some memorabilia about him that you are willing to share on this website, then please get in touch on our ‘Contact Us’ page. We would be very interested and grateful if you would allow us to scan photographs, letters, cards, medals – anything that helps us tell his war story for future generations
