UK soldiers who died in The Great War 1914-19 accessible on www.ancestry.co.uk says that this James Osborne was born in Eakring in Nottinghamshire. It gives the regimental details as written at the top of this page. It says he enlisted in Holywell and that he was killed in action. His Medal card, also on ancestry lists his three medals and adds that his first theatre of war was France and he entered it on the 27th September 1915.

The register of Soldier’s effects lists a number of relatives . It says his Mother was Ellen. His brother Thomas was Private 19531 of the Lincolnshire Regiment. His brother’s wife was Mrs Betsy Osborne.

Please can anyone help in identifying this soldier correctly?
