John Jones was born in Greenfield, Flintshire during 1862.

The 1881 Census states that the family lived at Spring Bank, Greenfield, Flintshire.   The head of the family was Isaac Jones aged 48, a Farmers Labourer.  His wife Sarah Jones aged 42 and four sons, John Jones aged 19, who was employed as a Brewers Carter (Drove a horse drawn cart containing beer barrels), Isaac Jones aged 17, a Domestic Servant, Owen Jones aged 13 and Robert Jones aged 10.

John married a lady named Mary and they lived at 33 Lucania Street, Garston, Liverpool. (No further details are known at this time).
