Ernest Williams was born in Holywell, Flintshire during the year 1896.
The 1911 Census tells us that the family lived at 2 Gravel Hill, Greenfield, Flintshire. The head of the family was David Williams, aged 48, a Widower who was employed as a Coal Miner. He had 3 (three) sons, Thomas Williams aged 20, a General Labourer, John Williams aged 18, also a General Labourer and Ernest Williams aged 16.
He is also remembered on The North Wales Heroes Memorial Arch, Deiniol Road, Bangor, Gwynedd, North Wales.
