Callaghan, Chris

Very little is known about this man other than what was reported in the County Herald of 28th June, 1918.

SOLDIER BRICKLAYERS DEATH

Information was received in the Borough on Thursday afternoon last week that Sapper C Callaghan, and whose address was stated to be Trelawny Square, Flint, had been killed in action. He was about 33 years of age, and a native of Moston, near Manchester. He enlisted in Flint in 1915.

The Soldier’s Died in the Great War index confirms he enlisted in Flint and his medal card stated he was posted to France with his regiment on 30th October, 1915.

Before he moved to Flint he had been employed by Chas Macintosh & Co Ltd, Manchester for he is commemorated on the Employees’ Roll of Honour.
