I have no clue to this man as all there is on the Cenotaph is the surname and an initial.  There is no Flintshire Index Card neither “Fallen” nor “Living” for this man in this area.

There is however, a Charles Green, whose name is on the Memorial Screen in St. Ethelwold’s Church, Shotton, and I am wondering if the artisan who put the names on the Connah’s Quay and Shotton Cenotaph was either given the wrong initial or transcribed the initial wrongly.

However he is not on any other local memorial i.e. Connah’s Quay/Shotton or Hawarden.

In the Mold, Deeside & Buckley Leader dated 3rd October 1924, a list of the men honoured on the St. Ethelwold’s Church War Memorial was printed and a Charles Green was it, so now I have a little more to go on!

Therefore I will need help, if anyone knows anything about this man could you please get in touch.   Thanking you in advance.
