Thomas Dodd was already a professional soldier at the outbreak of WW1. He had joined the Royal Welsh Fusiliers  on 25th February 1903. He served in India. He was called up as a reservist in August 1914. He was discharged on 25th February 1916 as his years of service came to an end. Tragically and ironically his drowning accident happened days later.
