Owen, William Henry

William Henry is remembered on the Saltney Ferry War Memorial which commemorates those men of the area who died during World War I and World War II.

The memorials, formerly sited in St. Mathew’s Church in Saltney Ferry (which was was destroyed by fire in 2008), are now in St Mark’s Church in High Street, Saltney.

There is no Flintshire WW1 Index Card,  for William Henry, the only information I have on him, is what was written on the memorial, which states that William Owen was in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, but there is on for OWEN, James John. (Saltney Ferry L154)  living at 28, North Street, Saltney Ferry.

Strangly, all the men on the memorial with the exception of William Henry Owen are named on the Bangor Memorial Arch,(http://www.bangorcivicsociety.org.uk/pages/arch/DSCF4378.htm) which has all the parishes of North Wales on it, and the names of the men who served in the Great War.  However, sometimes names are missed off that but are on the local memorials, needless to say lots of men were missed of many of the memorials.

Any information would be gratefully received.
