Lloyd, William Asterlyn

He was born in Bagillt in 1899. The 1901 census lists the family living in Kelstone Cottages, Holywell. One year old William was there with his father Jonah a 27 year old threshing machine driver, his mother, Jane 23 yrs and his baby sister Florence who was 7 months. Also with them was Jonah’s 13 year old sister in law – Amy I Smith.

In 1911 the family was living in 17 Bridge Street, Mold. Jonah was listed as a traction engine driver. He and Jane were now the parents of three children  William was 11, Florence was 10 and Arthur Noel was 8. The form tells us that one child had died.

The address given on his War Grave Certificate and Flintshire Roll of Honour card was 4 Victoria Terrace, Mold. The card bears the name of Florence Lloyd, sister.
