Hughes, John James

There is a Flintshire Roll of Honour card for this soldier in the County Archive Office in Hawarden. It gives regimental details as above and also the address Ivy Cottage Queen St, Leeswood. It is signed by Jane Hughes (Mother? sister?) and dated 16th September 1919.

Uk Soldiers who died in the Great War 1914-1919 accessible on www.ancestry.co.uk tells us that he enlisted in Caergwrle, Denbighshire.

His medal card tells us that the first theatre of war that he served in was The Balkans , ‘the date of entry therein’ was 8th August 1915. He died two days later in the ill fated mission at Gallipoli.

Apart from this we have been unable to find any other details so far about this soldier
