Biographical Details Known Thomas was born in 1895. His parents were Thomas and Ann Gittens. We can find the family on the 1911 census at 6 Glanrafon Road Mold but Thomas Edward was not listed. His father was 67 and was a carter to and from a colliery. His mother was Ann aged 43. There was Joseph his brother aged 20 who worked underground as a labourer at a colliery. There was an 8 year old sister Mary Ellen. Thomas Edward would have been 16 but where he was we cannot say. The census form tells us that Ann had given birth to 7 children but only 3 were still alive so one is unaccounted for on the form presumably, Thomas Edward.
The Flintshire Roll of Honour card states 6 Glanrafon Road as the address and it is signed by Joseph Gittens - his brother.
