Biographical Details Known The 1901 census tells us that Edward Bellis Williams was 1 year old. He lived with his parents John 31 a carter and his mother Catherine 30, in Mold. He had one brother Thomas John 6 and one sister Gwladys Hannah 4.
In the 1911 census the family lived in Fair View Mold. The father John described himself as a 'master carter'. The family had grown and now consisted of Thomas John 16 who assisted his father in his work, Gwladys was 14, Edward Bellis was 11, Walter was 8, Elizabeth 6, Edith3 and Llewelyn 1.
Edward Bellis would have been 14 when the war began. he must have been a very young soldier when he enlisted.
We know that the family moved to Globe House Mold at some point in the next few years..

Visit to Delsaux Farm Cemetery 13th October 2010
This was originally a German cemetery and it contained 103 commonwealth graves and 82 German. It was extended when a casualty clearing station came to Delsaux Farm in 1918. After the war it was extended further as graves were brought in from the battlefields. The German graves were moved elsewhere.
This was yet another cemetery, (one of the many we have seen) designed by Lutyens
The beautifully kept cemetery is outside the village of Beugny and is surrounded by a striking rural landscape. It contains the graves of 423 known UK men and 61 unknown UK men. There are 2 Australian, 3 Canadian and 6 New Zealand graves
We are so disappointed not to be able to post a better photograph of Edward's grave. The lettering on his grave has worn away quite badly and the light was difficult. We are sure that the grave will be be renovated by the CWGC's rolling programme of maintenance. It says
